VISITING BOBY (BUBBE) 9.25.09
On September 25, 2009 Barry and I went to the Baker Street Cemetery in West Roxbury, the Kopaigarod Section to visit Boby and Zaidy. Visiting family who have passed on is traditionally done between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. This year, upon the reunion of Barry and I, we both went. It was very emotional for both of us. We both cried. I cried because I knew her, spent the most time with her of all the grandchildren, and felt an extreme loss when she died. A big hole. Barry cried because he never knew her at all.........she had already died when he was born in 1965. And he looks very much like her.

CAROL'S BIRTHDAY
This year my birthday was different. My brother Barry had recently contacted me on August 25, 2009 after our ten year hiatus. My birthday is September 17th. He took me out to dinner at the Fireplace Restaurant, and showed up with a bouquet of flowers and this beautiful card. I also received beautiful cards from Roby and Aunt Bernice and Aunt Ruth and my very good friends Bill and Michael.

BARRY + CAROL REUNION
Thursday, September 3, 2009, Barry and I met at the Fireplace restaurant here in Brookline after not seeing each other for ten years ! A historic occasion ! After that we came back to my house and I made dinner, delicious Tilapia with red chard. Barry was quite amazed to see my newly acquired culinary skills and my refrigerator full of food. He said matter-of-factly, "I remember when I visited you in Cambridge (in the late 1970's, early '80's) when i was 12. I opened your refrigerator and there was nothing in it but tunafish. And you said if you are hungry, eat the tunafish......" wince, wince, boy oh boy, I had forgotten all about that!
It's impossible to describe the well of emotions we both felt..............we have such a shared history and we had a lot to talk about......conversations that we can't have with anyone else, because nobody else was there at 45 Lillian Road in Malden.
We sat at the bar and the bartender took a couple of pictures of us..........I look like my usual goofy self, but here they are anyway.....
