CORONA VIRUS DIARIES PART 2

Spring Comes Slowly to Brookline, 4.16.20
From my  Window

File this under "you never know what will happen when you wake up in the morning." Yesterday I was woken up by a telephone call. It was 9:00 am but during this weird time in America I have been staying up late, getting up late. I didn't answer the phone. I could not go back to sleep so I got up and saw my friend Laurie had called. Then suddenly there was a persistent knocking on my door, louder and louder. So still half asleep, Laurie was at my door. First of all, nobody is usually knocking at my door. My apartment building is in complete Lockdown. Management does not want us to go out for practically any reason except a medical emergency. Everything is getting delivered. Management is doing our laundry. Except I am not doing that, I do my own laundry. So why was Laurie knocking on my door ?  There she was with a new computer for me.

A gift. A surprise.

APRIL SNOW STORM 4.17.20 From my Window.
I talked to my friend Joan in Oakland on Saturday. She has lung cancer. She was a very good friend to me when I lived in Berkeley. Since she stopped the chemo (which did not have the desired effect) she stated her 'chemo brain is gone', she is feeling better and is back to posting on FaceBook. I have resisted Facebook all these years but I changed my mind now. I Decided I would sign on so that I can still be connected to her for as long as she is here. Now that we are not allowed to connect in the usual human physical ways, I Decided I will get onto Instagram and post my photos there.

I connected via email with another old friend from California, Pete. He is now an Associate Professor at U.C. San Diego. I sent him a few photos. He liked them, reminding him of the East Coast. I told him I was getting on Instagram. He said to let him know when I did - he will Follow me ! LOL, I have a Follower without an account :-)
