SHIRLEY'S BIRTHDAY

Today is my mother's birthday, following on the heels of her yahrtzeit last week. She would have been 93. She smoked two packs of cigarettes a day and lived to be 85. She defied the odds, naturally.

Aunt Ruth transitioned July 11th; her yahrtzeit is Tammuz 5 which oddly, according to the Jewish lunar calendar, corresponds to June 29th and Shirley passed away on June 28th. Aunt Ruth's birthday is July 14th.

My cousin Ellen sent me this picture dated 1967, "Dad with sisters.' I think it's the only picture of them together. And they are all gone now.

Shout out to Cousin Ellen !

thanks for telling me about this.
the threads of this family are entwined so as you can not pull on just one thread w/out tugging on several more - or - just like almost every other family. almost.

'almost' being the key word, LOL....I enjoyed talking to you about our memories of being in Bubbe's house on the holidays. And to hear your perspective which I never knew before, about Bubbe and Zaidy....great insight...
