The Senate voted to confirm Kavanaugh, 50-48. Good for Senator Lisa Murkowski, R who listened to her Alaskan constituents and voted NO. Props to Senator Heidi Heitkamp, D, who voted NO despite her tough battle for re-election in North Dakota ! She has more courage than all the white males who voted yea.
Shame for Susan Collins who I truly believe is delusional. She will be voted out of office. Why Joe Manchin is a Democrat I cannot figure out - he voted Yea with the rest of the Republicans.
Right now, 6:00 pm, protests with huge crowds are still standing in front of the Supreme Court ALL THE WAY UP THE STEPS TO THE FRONT DOORS. It reminded me of the scene in A Tale of Two Cities, (Ronald Colman) when the Paris 'mob' shook the locked gates of Versailles as meat was fed to a dog while they were starving....."let them eat cake" , remember ?
